Polly told us she wanted to become a mentor because she has been the recipient of some great advice and enjoys sharing it.  Launching a business can be a lonely spot sometimes and being able to reach and help someone that has taken those first steps is very rewarding.

What advice would she give to others starting out:

“My advice for any aspiring entrepreneur is, be strong, have a clear vision of what you what to achieve but be pragmatic with the route it may take to get there and surround yourself with great people.”

Juliana decided to apply for a mentor because she’s found that when you’re running a small business, it’s easy to get swamped by day-to-day management, and tough to find people to bounce ideas off of who’ve actually been there.  She’s been enjoying her mentoring experience with Polly Gowers.


Juliana has said after her initial meetings with Polly:

“Polly is very warm, but also very straighforward, which is brilliant because her questions allowed me to see immediately how to tackle problems, and what I was wasting time thinking about.   

My goal with mentoring is to determine how to continue building a structure that will allow my company to move forward and grow in the long-term.  I’m also aiming to develop confidence and strengthen my negotiating skills.”
