In
recent years, there has been an increase in the number of businesswomen
setting up their own internet companies and obtaining prominent
positions in the internet industry.
However,
in the general business and tech media, businesswomen in internet
companies are less visible. This is also the case at
awards competitions, venture capital forums and pitching events.
Yet a presence and visibility in these media and events is the
key to obtaining market share for companies, receiving start-up
seed capital, obtaining further financing and being invited to apply
for senior executive positions. Events and media are
also valuable networking and education opportunities.
The
Event
FreshIdeas

to hold the first in a series of events for and about women in the

event presents an excellent opportunity for greater participation
and visibility in the internet industry.
